Eventide tasting panel and the final selfish brew…*sigh*
It is getting toward crunch time here at Eventide and all of us are working furiously to hit our target launch date in June. In preparation for our launch, with interest in nailing down our “go to market” recipes, we conducted our first official tasting panel on Friday night. The results were interesting and we learned a great deal, both good and bad, which we will digest and use to perfect the process in the coming weeks. We would like to thank everyone involved for their time and effort, we hope to include you in future tastings as these will be crucial for turning good beer into great.
An unfortunate casualty of ramping up for our launch date is that we won’t be able to do as many experimental/special/”just for us” brews. In fact, unless a little time is stolen between now and the summer, this will be our last one until we are in a store near you. Thankfully, it is a good one…
We are huge fans of Schneider-Weisse and their delicious weizenbock, Aventinus, so much so that we decided to make our own. Brewed with dark wheat, Munich, pilsner, and crystal malts this will be a malty-sweet beer with complex flavors of dark sugar and fruit. The Bavarian yeast strain should impart its own specific esters and the result, we hope, will at least be able to be mentioned in the same conversation as the aforementioned. We look forward to sharing the results with you very soon.
Finally, we would like to thank Brewmaster’s Warehouse for supplying us with all of the ingredients for each of our brews. They have a knowledgeable group of guys there and the owner, Ed, has done a great job of growing the place and stocking it with everything you’ll need for brewing or for the lesser craft of wine making (J/K). Check them out and tell them Eventide sent you.
Now, on to the pics…
Isn’t she pretty?
